Privacy Policy

Effective date: February 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Furlders (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, apps, and services (the “Service”).

Information we collect

  • Account info: email, username, and basic profile fields you choose to add (e.g., display name, bio, avatar URL).
  • Content you save: folders, links/URLs, titles/descriptions/notes, comments, and sharing/collaboration metadata.
  • Security + usage data: IP address, device/browser info, timestamps, and activity logs used to protect the Service.

IP logging & security monitoring

We log IP addresses and related security signals to: prevent fraud, protect accounts, rate-limit abuse, detect suspicious logins, and investigate incidents. We may derive approximate location from IP for security purposes.

URL scanning & abuse prevention

Because Furlders stores links, we may automatically scan/inspect URLs and related metadata (such as domain, path patterns, redirect behavior, and reputation signals) to:

  • detect malware, phishing, scams, and spam campaigns
  • prevent the Service from being used to share illegal or harmful content
  • enforce our Terms (including content that is illegal or violates policy)

Important: This scanning is for safety and abuse prevention. It may include automated checks and, in certain cases, manual review (for example, when content is reported or flagged). If we detect content that appears illegal (e.g., CSAM) or poses an imminent safety risk, we may remove it, suspend accounts, and report it to appropriate authorities as required by law.

How we use information

  • Provide and improve the Service (saving, organizing, and sharing links)
  • Operate features (comments, sharing/collaboration, activity history)
  • Customer support and communications
  • Security, abuse prevention, and enforcement of Terms
  • Analytics to understand performance and reliability

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to:

  • Service providers who help run the Service (hosting, databases, email delivery, security tooling)
  • Other users when you share a folder or collaborate (they can see shared content)
  • Legal/safety reasons if required to comply with law or protect users and the Service

Data retention

  • We retain account and saved-content data while your account is active.
  • Security logs (including IP addresses) are retained for a limited period as needed for security, abuse prevention, and incident response.
  • When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your data, except where we must retain certain records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your choices

  • Delete your account: available in Account → Danger Zone.
  • Shared content: if you share a folder, collaborators may retain access until sharing is revoked.

Children

Furlders is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
